It took me awhile to post this, I apologize. I’ll keep it real & say my blogging motivation went out the window for a second & I was on super chill mode. But I did go to the mall the day like I said I was going to. I spent 2 + hours (not joking) playing around in Sephora, and at MAC and Bobbi Brown in Hudson Belk.
HERE’S THE WINNER:
Take a look at the lipglosses down below with a brief description as to why I liked, or didn’t like, them.
C-THRU will always be #1 in my book though, no matter how long I search for a new favorite.
I’m on the pursuit of the perfect lipgloss today….
MAC?
Dior?
Yves Saint Laurent?
Smashbox?
MAKE UP FOR EVER?
Sephora?
Bobbi Brown?
NARS?
Clinique?
Chanel?
Urban Decay?
Forget about happiness, lipgloss is where it’s at! haha. But really, I’m on my way to the mall right now & will probably spend a good hour searching & I’ll be sure to post pictures of the lipglosses I tried & let you know if I found my perfect no lipgloss (other than C-THRU) … wish me luck!!
I wanted to avoid making posts about my own makeup for fear of coming off as conceited but I had a couple people say it’s a good idea & personalizes my blog more. So here’s a pic of a night out recently…
I went for a more natural look, w/a super bronzey glow…& dark eyeliner. Here’s what I used…

1. Starting with clean skin I applied MAKE UP FOR EVER Foundation $40 using a sponge to apply
2. Used MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Dark $25
3. This is the brush I used to put the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural on – 182 Buffer Brush $45
4. Used Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit $32
5. Used the MAC 190 Foundation Brush $32 to put on the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer
6. For my eyes I used MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder $14.50 – I lined my bottom rims & upper lashes heavily
7. I went over the lines I made with this MAC Eye Shadow in Carbon $14.50
8. I used a MAC 208 Angled Brow Brush $19.50 to blend the eyeshadow
9. I used Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara $price varies first to coat lashes
10. Used DiorShow Iconic Mascara $27 to thicken & define lashes. It’s also a smaller brush for bottom lashes.
11. My favorite thing – MAC Eyebrow Pencil in Stud $15
12. I used the MAC 208 Angled Brow Brush $19.50 again to blend my eyebrows
13. Lastly, I put on a coat of my favorite lipgloss. C-THRU Tinted Lipglass $14
It seems like a lot, but it’s not. I enjoy doing my makeup…love love love it!!! Let me know if you have any questions.
I have tried all of the mascaras below – & all of them I have liked, but two I have LOVED!
In MY EYES, one place where it’s OK to skimp as far as price goes is MASCARA!! I think drugstore store mascara works just about as well as any other I’ve tried. You may disagree, but from all the mascara I’ve bought, I am as happy spending $8 verse spending $30.

1. Covergirl Lash Blast price varies ($7.79) – I love this mascara, I have it right now. It just gives overall clean lashes…no clumps and such. This brush is kinda of big so getting bottom lashes & inner lashes is a little tough, but doable.
2. MAC Plush Lash $13 – This is my least favorite of the three mascaras. I find that MAC mascara clumps a lot – sorry to those MAC mascara lovers, only my opinion! I don’t use MAC mascara often…I do use their eyelashes which I’ll have a post about later
3. Dior Iconic Mascara $27 – I LOVE this mascara for dramatic lashes. I have it right now & I layer & layer…sometimes it gets a little thick & to be honest takes a ton of work to get off even though it’s not waterproof. Nevertheless it’s a great mascara for dramatic lashes..& a small enough brush to get in all the corners.
*I don’t use waterproof mascara unless I know I’ll be in water – I find it’s really hard to get off even with makeup remover
*Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover is my all time favorite makeup remover…leaves a little oily residue (just like most makeup removers- I just use some water to wipe it off). I use it with cotton balls or squares – you can get it at most drugstores.
**I am going to continue to post products that are priced low, medium & high. Often times with makeup people opt for cheap product which in some cases is okay, others it’s better to invest**
