1. Flesh toned eye liner – it’s a less retro, more natural option verse white liner – when put on your inside lower rim it makes your eyes appear bigger – also helps if you smudge a little on the inner corner to open up the eyes more.I’m going to try the MAC Kohl eyeliner for that. I love their eyeliners.
2. Cream blush – much more natural look than powder blush. I’m going to try Bobbi Browns and NARS – maybe another brand I haven’t tried yet & see which I like more
3. I need to find a new red lipstick – my NARS “Scarlet Empress” lipstick is my favorite red – it’s so rich and deep, but the color has been reformulated & it no longer is the shade I love – so the hunt for my perfect red lip continues…
4. A few false lashes – I am going to wear false lashes when I go out more – it’s such a quick & easy way to play up your eyes. So pretty when they’re natural looking. Shu Uemura & MAC have great lashes!
That’s it for now I think… ohhh!!
5. A new makeup case – my makeup case is falling apart – and is WAY too small.
I know for my birthday, which is June 2nd, but I’m celebrating June 4th, I want to do a really soft pretty look so I’m on the search for a eyeshadow palette I can use to create a nice bronze eye. Here are two in the running!

YSL Ombres 5 Lumieres – I love this eyeshadow palette! The colors are gorgeous – 4 different shades of peaches, brown, bronze, & orange. And of course the palette comes with a highlighter! (Even better, because I need to replace my Rice Paper highlighter from MAC) – $56.00
NARS Duo Shadow – Two colors that are super shimmery & pigmented. I love these colors, it’s just missing a highlighter. I’m leaning towards the YSL palette. – $32.00
This wasn’t an official photo shoot or anything, but it was an official birthday which is just as important….![]()
As well as being a great friend Kelcie Glass let me use her eyeliner while I was in DC this winter break. My MAC eyeliner was drying up & I need another tube but Kelcie had L’oreal Paris Carbon Black Lineur Intense. This stuff is great… check out the website here for the product!
L’oreal claims that The Carbon Black is 2 times darker that regular black & it’s definitely true. I LOVED the liner!! It’s priced relatively well too around $9.
We did a little makeup for Kelcie’s birthday. I say we because Kelc did her lips I just did the skin and eye bit. Her face looks BEATTTTT! Take a look for yourself.

This is an AMAZING idea & I just came across it the other day. MAC let’s you customize an eyeshadow palette of your choice. You can choose 4 MAC eyeshadows for $47.50, 6 eyeshadows for $105.00, or 15 Eyeshadows for $177.0! I’m definitely ging with the 15 palette eyeshadow.
You can create this palette on MAC’s website & pick & choose from their huge selection of eyeshadows.Go try out the different eyeshadows… I’ll be ordering mine ASAP!

My new favorite product. It’s a must have! GET IT!! It’s worth it.
This new product is the MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Microfinish Powder for $30. You can get this at Sephora stores & it’s rated as a Sephora best seller and given 4 1/2 stars out of 5 on the website reviews. This powder sets makeup & mattifies skin slightly, but still lets the natural skin shine through. It is talc free and has silicones in it to fill in lines & areas that shouldn’t be there. It gives a super natural glow & makes you look like you have flawless skin.
I doubted the product at first so I put some on my face in the store, it’s amazing!! I bought it and use my MAC 182 Buffer Brush $45 to put it on.

Time for a short story: I was very disappointed when I went into Sephora the other day& was searching for THE perfect red lipstick. I had been to MAC tried Diva, Media, Russian Red, Ruby Woo, looked at countless other lipsticks from other lines…blah blah blah.
Anyways. I found this in the NARS section:
NARS Lipstick in Scarlet Empress. OMGSH I HAD TO HAVE IT! I’m not kidding – you guys might be like, “what’s her issue, it’s just lipstick” but I fell in love. I tested it out on my hand it was the creamiest thickest deep red perfection ever – more so than the swatch above – I almost cried…so I’m excited. I’ve found MY red lipstick, right? WRONG!
Here comes the BEAUTY TIP part :
ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS take the product you are going to buy (NOT the tester) and open it before you buy it.
I was with Erika and Kelcie and was insisting that the color was different. They didn’t believe me – because it did look very similar. Even the makeup artist didn’t believe me. So I buy it, knowing I’m going to have to return it but put it on my hand next to the “same colored” tester –> COMPLETELY DIFFERENT consistency& definitely not my perfect red! Now I can’t claim NARS does this on purpose – but they sent two testers to Sephora (I demanded to see the other one) and they both are this amazing red & I looked at all other 3 lipsticks on sale…all the dull semi-red kinda pink lipstick … if they do this on purpose they are WRONG.
I got my lipstick tho! I am very good with words.
This
all black everything motto has been taken to makeup now!
MAC just released a new collection called “Style Black” which pumps up the drama, a LOT! This collection includes black lipstick (matte and cream finish), nail polish, eyeshadow – everything. Take a look at the MAC website.
I am going to add the Black Knight Lipstick to my collection. Check below for some of the different products & promo pics for the new line.

I’ll admit I don’t wear eyeshadow that much…& if I do it’s brown, black, or gray. BUT I love the way some people rock colorful eyeshadow. But it’s easy to mess up. Here’s something on my hit list that I want to try.
If anyone has tried it let me know.

MAKE UP FOR EVER EYESHADOW $19 – This eyeshadow has a high pigment density which supposedly makes it last a long time & give maximum coverage. The eyshadows come inĀ Matte texture, Semi-Matte & iridescent shades. I’m going to try a Matte texture because that gives maximum coverage & the most dramatic color – why not go all out?
These eyeshadows come in so many colors I can’t even count – I always see them when I’m at the Sephora stores but have never tried them. I’m going to & I promise to report back as soon as I do.
Tip: I really love these products called Paints from MAC $16.50 – I have “Bare Canvas” & if I am putting on eyeshadow I use a brush and use a TINY amount and smooth it all over my eyelid up to my brow bone. It gives a really good layer for eyeshadow to stick to so you get more coverage from your eyeshadow (unless you want a sheer eyeshadow effect). I also have a green one – I think it was limited edition…? Not quite sure.
Introducing…
The Beauty Blender!!
I first saw this on Kim Kardashian’s blog when Troy Jensen was using it on her. I definitely am going to order this from Sephora (I don’t think it’s available in stores yet).
This sponge is non-disposable so you can use it over & over again – you buy a cleanser with it. It’s said to give you flawless application & I believe it, but I’ll try it out to make sure & report back ASAP!
Right now I either use disposal sponges to put on my foundation or my foundation brush from MAC - but I want to try the Beauty Blender!
Secret trick: I always go into Sephora & take their sponges they have available to use for instore makeup application – it’s nice & free
& legal
I’ve always been a huge fan of MAC, but recently I have switched my makeup. I remember when I first started off wearing Covergirl - when they didn’t have the Queen collection and their range of brown foundation was – let’s just say subpar.
I’ve switched up what I use – I’m not saying use what I use, but I’ve found Makeup Forever’s foundation to be great…and now I’m deciding to try something else new…so take a look!
PAST – I used MAC StudioFix in NC45 $26 – It’s oil free, medium coverage, matte finish. All that good stuff. BUT it does havE SPF – AHHHHH! Great for skin, but I don’t like. I didn’t forget that I’ll tell you all why…later.
PRESENT- Right now I use Makeup Forever HD Invisible Covere Foundation $40 – I use a sponge to apply it or a foundation brush I have from MAC. I like the fact it has no SPF and is used for HD TV so the coverage is crazy. It looks really natural and comes in a million shades!!
FUTURE - This is on my “Hit List” - Bobbi Brown Luminous Moisturizing Foundation $45 – The reason being that I love my Bobbi Brown concealer so much and Bobbi Brown is the queen of flawless skin. Remember my post about them!?
Now that you’ve seen my past, present & future of foundation, experiment. Sephora is great because they have sponges out and makeup remover & a bunch of cosmetic lines in one place – except they don’t have MAC or Bobbi Brown
If anyone has a great foundation tip or line that they use tell me. Also, drug stores carry some great lines of foundation – they’ve done a lot of research recently to step their game up. I’ll have a drugstore spread in the future.
I’m going to try this next – NARS Lipstick in Sephora Flame $24.
Pick this up at Sephora stores or wherever they sell NARS…Nordstrom, Bloomingdales. Of course it comes in other shades so take a look.
I’ve been looking for a deep red hue that’s velvety but matte like this one.
I’ll definitely report back to let you know how this works! If anybody has tried it or does before I do – let me know how you like it.
